Mexico

March 4, 2023 — March 12, 2023

Join Developing Workers as we head to the southeastern part of Mexico!

Mexico is a new location for DW Mobilize Medical teams to serve, however, our Foundations Global teams have done many pastoral training workshops there over the years. We will be serving in remote and rural areas of Tabasco and Chiapas, caring for those who have very limited access to medical care and medicines. Our partners are looking forward to the opportunity to serve their communities through medical clinics. As always, our goal is to connect the community to the local church and share the love and truth of Jesus Christ.

More About This Trip

March 4, 2023 – March 12, 2023

Estimated trip cost is $2.500 per person which includes their airfare, lodging and meals. Trip cost may increase for those who apply after December 31, 2022.

Please note: Currently,  COVID vaccinations are preferred but not required (10/01/22).

There are 31 territorial entities (i.e. states) in the country of Mexico and we will be serving in 2 of these states – Tabasco and Chiapas.

To start, we will fly into the city of Villahermosa which is the capital of the state of Tabasco. Located in the southeastern part of Mexico, Tabasco borders the Gulf Coast. The vibrant green landscape is a beautiful background to the brightly colored homes and churches.

From Villahermosa, we will travel to Chiapas just south of Tabasco. Chiapas borders Guatemala. Its mountainous highlands and dense rainforest are dotted with Mayan archeological sites and Spanish colonial towns.

We will be serving in remote and rural areas in both of these states, caring for those who have very limited access to medical care and medicines. Because the local hospital is almost 2 hours from these communities and because medicine is a luxury, the clinics will meet many physical and emotional needs of the community. By meeting these felt needs, hearts will then be open to hear and receive the truth of the gospel!

Total trip cost is $2,500 per person.

Each team member is responsible for raising and submitting the necessary donation amount to cover trip costs. All donors will receive a tax receipt for their donation(s).

The trip total covers costs for airfare from the departure airport (Phoenix) to the arrival airport, food, lodging, water, travel health insurance, t-shirt, training, in-country transport, and translators. Air travel can be customized to depart from your selected airport however that added cost will be the traveler’s responsibility.

The deposit for this trip is $300. This is non-refundable. Once we begin ticketing for this trip we will reach out to you about submitting an additional $700 for ticketing. The exact date for ticketing is not set since it is determined by registrations received and flight pricing. We will keep you apprised.

All trip funds are due in full 30 days before travel.

Please note: COVID vaccinations are preferred but not required at this time (11/15/22).

All COVID related testing before, during, and after the trip is not included in the trip cost. Also, additional trip expenses due to quarantine or illness are not included in the trip cost.

During the 5 days of clinic, we have the opportunity to build relationships with the local pastors as well as share the gospel with each person who comes through clinic. As people come through and have their physical needs met, we listen to their stories, learn of their social needs and assess their discipleship needs. Then they receive vitamins, a dewormer, and any necessary medicine. Patients feel seen, heard, and cared for. By the end of clinic, they have an opportunity to hear the gospel and receive prayer. At this point their hearts and minds are even more open because we have built a relationship of trust with each patient as they walk through clinic. Those in need of a deeper restorative discipleship relationship are offered an opportunity to be connected with a local HERO to walk with them on this journey. As a team, we have the opportunity to be part of their journey.

All types of volunteers are needed for this trip – medical and non-medical. We are looking for a variety of doctors, PA’s, NP’s, registered nurses, EMT’s, paramedics, students, and VOLUNTEERS. Each team of volunteers serves to provide medical exams, nutritional assessments, deworming, vitamins, dental hygiene instruction, medicine, and community safety (CSI) evaluations. Every patient is led through spiritual counseling and has the opportunity to be connected with the local church for follow up and discipleship. There is a place for everyone to serve! YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL TO JOIN.
