Serving in India is a tremendous joy for us as we continue in a longtime partnership with One Child Matters and Mission of Mercy India. We will be serving the students of Bombay Day School, Junnar Boys Home and Cornell Memorial School. Our destination is the cities of Trivandrum and Sengottai.
We will dive into 5 days of the mobile clinics. Offering nutritional assessments, child safety evaluations(CSI), medical exams, deworming, vitamins, dental hygiene training, medication, and spiritual counseling. We will have one free day at the end of our trip to relax and/or explore. Our ultimate goal is to bridge the community with the local church. To bring Christ to the communities we serve and to encourage the local church and staff to carry out the Great Commission. We will be including local pastors and church leaders to serve alongside us. Our CSI training will continue in these cities as we strive to bring hope and help to young people caught in the throes of domestic violence or trafficking, helping them see the value of who they are in Christ and to help them see themselves as valued and treasured. Connecting each young person with a Child Champion who can be a safe person for them at any time.
October 4 – October 15
Cost Approximately $3800.00 and includes airfare
About the Location
Kerala, a state on India’s tropical Malabar Coast, has nearly 600km of Arabian Sea shoreline. It’s known for its palm-lined beaches and backwaters, a network of canals. Inland are the Western Ghats, mountains whose slopes support tea, coffee and spice plantations as well as wildlife. National parks like Eravikulam and Periyar, plus Wayanad and other sanctuaries, are home to elephants, langur monkeys, and tigers.
In August of 2018 Kerala experienced the worst flooding that the state has seen in over a century.
