At Developing Workers we believe that every person is dearly loved and created by God. If people are to flourish, they must understand that they have great value. They are valuable to God, and they are valuable to their community. Unfortunately, we live in a world where broken relationships lead an attack on this beloved identity, and even the basic need of personal safety is missing. Our team is driven to come alongside community leaders around the world, equipping them with strategies to identify and minister to those whose safety is most at-risk and, from there, carry out the Great Commission.
The Community Safety Initiative (CSI) is designed to screen and identify children and adults who are at-risk for social/emotional, physical, and sexual abuse. Our Mobilize Medical team comes to a community and asks a few simple questions of each individual, via a translator.
Our vision is to help these newly-identified, hurting individuals to begin to know their value in God’s eyes. We aspire to activate, train, and equip community leaders to provide them with the mentorship and support they need. Through this support the individuals can grow in God’s love and develop into healthy adults and future leaders in their communities.
Our objective for the program is for a community leader/pastor to identify “CSI Heroes” in the community who will mentor and support the identified at-risk or in need individuals. The CSI Heroes will follow up with the individuals to help meet needs they have to feel safe in their homes and communities. Individuals will also have the opportunity to walk through a discipleship workbook on healing with their Hero. The CSI Heroes’ intention is to empower the individuals to reach their God-given potential.
Currently we have the CSI discipleship workbooks available in 4 languages – English, Spanish, Swahili, and Masai. If you would like more information on the Community Safety Initiative, please feel free to contact us!
